Over the years it had become apparent to the Directors of COPE National, that there was a pressing need for a communication medium directed specifically to the Canadian electrologists. As a result, a COPE National news letter was initiated. At the outset the Board of Directors visualized a four to eight page publication, to highlight happenings in Canada in this profession.
It soon became apparent from the amount of material that was directed to the COPE head office for publication, that the originally planned newsletter would not even come close to meeting the demand. As a result the original concept rapidly changed into a full-blown magazine, that is now well received by readers and advertisers alike.
As of the end of the calendar year 2001, sixteen issues will have been published and the circulation continues to grow. The magazine is published twice per year, spring and fall.
Each issue contains a wide range of electrology related items such as, updates on Canada Health Infection Control Standards and Guidelines, training opportunities, meetings, conventions, letters to the editor, supplier advertising, articles contributed by other doctors and other professionals, and so on.
The magazine's first editor also initiated a unique Dictionary of Universal Technical Terms for Electrology , a first of its kind anywhere. Because of the size of this document, the Dictionary was included in ten issues, four pages at a time, in loose-leaf format, starting with the Spring 1995 issue. A loose-leaf format was chosen to facilitate convenient retention and filing by interested practitioners.
Back Issues of most magazines are still available, along with back issues of the loose-leaf dictionary. Give your electrology library extra status by purchasing the convenient COPE National filing binders, to protect the quality of your magazines, loose leaf dictionary and other important association documents.
The COPE National News magazine is one of the best sources for electrologists, suppliers, potential electrologists and the public to use for research and references.
Note: When looking up telephone/fax numbers, e-mail/postal addresses etc. always look in the most recent issue first, because this information is constantly changing.
